Job Description

Casting Operator 2.4 2.4 out of 5 stars 120 Blue Brook Drive, Shelby, NC 28150 Description of activities (List of all key tasks/processes actually carried out) : The holder of the position…. Ø Should wear all necessary PPE (earplugs, safety glasses, safety shoes, natural clothing (cotton), long sleeve shirts and pants. Ø Able to operate equipment in a safe manner (die cast machine, computer IDEA 3, forklift, crane hoist, etc…) Ø Assist in performing die changes on CPC machines, as well as trim die changes, has knowledge to prepare metal, charge melting furnace and transfer metal to CPC machine. Ø Recognizes when it’s appropriate to change a mold due to malfunction or shot count Ø Change riser tubes, gaskets and ceramic bushings. Ø Operate and restart all peripheral equipment including robots, and quench tanks. Ø Work towards achieving KPI goals i.e. OEE, Yield Ø Verify CPC casting machine settings and peripheral devices according to set-up sheet, including cycle time, pressure curves and cooling times. Ø Troubleshoot all issues affecting normal production, coordinate corrective actions through the Team Leader Ø Complete all required paperwork and production reporting completely and accurately including pre shift checklists and production/scrap reports Ø Maintain a clean and safe work environment with good 5S practices Ø Generate ideas for continuous improvement Ø Follow all work instructions and company policies as well as other duties as directed by the Team Leader and Shift Leader. Ø Responsible for identifying Environmental Aspects for his/her process, and supporting the Environmental Management Plan (EMP) goals and targets through training, engagement and communication.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this position, the employee must comply with all safety regulations and proper operating procedures, utilizing required safety equipment at all times. Employees are obligated to leave workplace in a clean and orderly manner. Must collaborate in the bridging of break times, and briefly inform the following operator of activates that took place during his/her shift. Must immediately inform respective shift of group leader if there are any process deviations.
