Crew Supervisor Job Summary:
Set up and operate the slitter to cut fabric to proper width and diameter Safety – follows company procedures and uses material and equipment per manufacturers’ directions Clear and open communication with line operators, lab, slitter leads and shift manager Check work orders to confirm product by performing line clearance forms at start of shift and order changes. Verify proper machine settings with appropriate order/recipe Verify proper knife alignment and offset set-up according to knife recipe and to work order Full understanding of all manual operating functions of the slitter Visual/Audio checks during start-up and operations of each shaft to ensure proper efficiency is maintained Full troubleshooting capability for all knife(slitter) equipment Conduct quality checks and ability to troubleshoot quality related issues Must be certified packer level 2, assist and direct when needed Quality – Ensures quality by continually watching for and reporting any abnormalities. Full understanding and ability to operate Defect calculator, ability to measure defects manually Maintain a clean and orderly workstation, keep slitter, unwinder and buffer free of foreign objects Clear communications with lab and basic understanding of lab spec and recipe requirements Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
High School Diploma, (or a GED) or equivalent experience is required. Additionally, he/she must possess good problem solving skills, basic math skills, along with good interpersonal skills. Working harmoniously with co-workers while exhibiting a “can-do” attitude is critical to success. Employee must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a somewhat frequent basis.

Work area is a manufacturing environment which is not climate controlled year round with noise levels ranging from moderate to loud requiring hearing protection.
