JOB PURPOSE
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Operate block machine and associated equipment efficiently to produce concrete products from raw materials to the Yard stage, according to prescribed quality standards and production schedule.2. Inspect quality of products according to prescribed standards such as height, color, shape and corners. Adjust machinery and related processes as required to meet quality standards.3. Monitor the operation of the block machine, batcher, mixer, admix tank, conveyors, loader, unloader, depalleter, cuber, kilns and other nearby equipment to detect and report malfunctions.4. Maintain, adjust, and perform minor repairs on the block machine and associated equipment.5. Maintain work area in orderly and hazard-free condition.6. Change molds as required with the assistance of other production personnel.7. Perform other functions as required or directed, such as starting up and shutting down the block machine; keeping written records of production; relieving other personnel for breaks; communicating changes in product size, color and / or cubing patterns to the Cuber and Production List; making sure the mixer is cleaned as required; maintaining admix level; assisting with major equipment, maintenance and repairs, assisting the Shift Supervisor with coordinating all production operations that are tied to the speed and output of the block machine; and assisting with training of employees.8. Observe company safety rules and policies.

MINIMUM JOB SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- 1.
Detect when products do not meet quality standards and machinery does not meet operational standards.2. Communicate production emergencies.3. Operate machinery.4. Make minor adjustments and repairs on machinery.5. Possess numerical skills to use a tape measure, choose mold sizes, adjust machinery and calculate production reports.6. Know the basics of hydraulics, electricity and tools.7. Know the parts and basic assembly of a mold. Know when faulty mold parts are affecting product quality.8. Know concrete product sizes, shapes and colors very well.9. Know Cuber operation very well.10. Know basic forklift operations.11. Have basic knowledge of electronics and programable controllers.12. Understand and follow instructions in English.

MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Lift concrete products, machine parts, and other objects weighing up to 70 pounds each, at heights from floor level to 4 feet high.2. Provide assistance to others in moving heavier or bulky objects.3. Endure continuous standing and walking.4. Endure intermittent climbing, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, pushing and pulling.5. Function in workplace environmental conditions including, but not limited to, cold, heat, bright sun, noise, and nuisance dusts.

SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES FOR MACHINE OPERATOR

Carefully follow noise, dust and other environmental safety procedures as required.2. Carefully follow lifting and back safety rules while handling concrete products, pallets and machinery.3. Use proper safety guidelines for repetitive motion tasks.4. Clear machinery jams by stopping machine or using the proper t ol.
Never use the hand or tool to clear jams while machinery is running.5. Carefully follow Lockout/Tagout procedures for maintenance and repairs.6. Know hazardous materials in work area and how to protect against them.7. Be alert to the safe working conditions of all nearby machinery and personnel.8. Be sure that all guards and safety devices are in place and properly adjusted and that all personnel are clear of machines before starting.9. Carefully follow safety instructions for equipment as spelled out in manufacturers manuals.10.
Block Machine Operator must wear:
safety helmet, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, safety shoes, and personal protective equipment associated with other tasks performed in block manufacturing.
