This role is responsible for setting up, maintaining, and optimizing injection molding processes to ensure consistent part quality, maximize machine efficiency, and minimize downtime. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with mold setups, troubleshooting, and process improvement in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and start up injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment according to production schedules and specifications. Monitor and adjust process parameters to ensure stable production and part quality. Perform mold changes, material changes, and machine adjustments as required. Troubleshoot process, material, and equipment issues to minimize downtime. Collaborate with quality assurance and engineering to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions. Maintain documentation of process settings, production data, and maintenance activities. Perform regular inspections and maintenance on machines, molds, and auxiliary equipment. Ensure proper handling and usage of raw materials and finished products. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S, lean manufacturing, and process optimization. Adhere to all safety procedures and company policies.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in a related field preferred. 2+ years of experience in plastic injection molding, preferably as a process technician or similar role. Strong understanding of injection molding equipment, mold setup, and process troubleshooting. Knowledge of various plastic materials and their processing characteristics. Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and process sheets. Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
