FUNCTION SUMMARY

The primary responsibilities are to operate an induction melting furnace, operating a spectrograph and
pouring materials into pre-determined molds and shake the mold to remove the casting. Operate
overhead crane and motorized equipment in a safe and effective manner. Completing preventive
maintenance on equipment.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

? Follow direction provided by Floor Supervisor.
? Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to, and enforcing, all safety procedures and
policies inside and outside the facility, including use of personal protective and McLanahan
equipment as required.
? Represent McLanahan Corporation in a positive manner both internally and externally while
adhering to the organization’s core values.
? Communicate effectively with co-workers, management, customers, and others in a courteous
and professional manner.
? Load material into the furnace as outlined in the standard operating procedures.
? Monitor the operations of the furnace including temperatures according to standard written
instructions.
? Obtain sample of materials and test the materials utilizing spectrograph to ensure results are in
line with pre-determined requirements. Adjustments are made as required to meet the
expectations.
? Pour materials in ladle as indicated in the pour off chart, pour materials into the mold as
determined by work orders.
? Remove the casting from the mold and shake out any additional materials from the mold
casting.
? Remove unwanted materials from the work area to a staging area for proper disposal.
? Maintain and record data of the procedure.
? Participate in 5S and Lean manufacturing initiatives as assigned by direct supervisor or
designee.
? Be available and able to work shift and overtime as assigned.
