Shift SUMMARY :
Sets up, auxiliary machines as needed for injection molding machines. Adjusts and monitors injection molding machines and equipment for processes to insure quality product and meet customer specifications by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Setup/Processing:
Mounts, aligns, and secures tool sections in machines and verifies safe operations. Sets up, adjusts, auxiliary equipment, such thermolaters, grinders, mold vacs, conveyors. Sets molding process according to setup sheets. Sets up, adjusts, and maintains injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment, using such items as hand tools, electrical testing instruments, machine controls and gauges. Adjusts machine operations and instruments to accomplish work order objectives, quality expectations, and to accomplish startup and shut down efficiently. Cooperates and communicates with other production personnel, i.e.: Supervisors, Quality, Process Engineers and Operators to ensure quality production parts and to continuously achieve effective methods for processing. Documents all process problems and corrections in mold log book. Reports problems and malfunctions to shift supervisor. Responsible for maintaining equipment. Reports to supervisor when requisitions are needed for replacement parts and equipment
Miscellaneous:
Assists Material Handlers as needed. Maintains a clean work place implementing 5S standards. Operates equipment in safe manner, practices 5S. Substitutes for Shift Supervisor as needed. Takes on responsibilities of floor supervisor at all times. Occasionally may drive company vehicles to pick up parts or materials. Makes suggestions for improving job processes.
SKILLS:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three month related experience and/or training. Advancement consideration will include continuing education completed through on the job training opportunities and outside curriculums. Team members are encouraged to research and request training that will increase their skills to achieve maximum performance. Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in a written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to read and interpret documents such as specifications, blueprints, job orders, safety rules, procedure manuals, operating and maintenance instructions. Ability to write routine correspondence. Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner with internal and external customers. Must be computer literate. Must have valid driver’s license. Must be willing to work extended work day with minimum notice. Ability to apply basic math to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages and volume. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee frequently is required to use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must be capable of lifting and/or moving up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
