JOB DUTIES
Requires no Supervision except occasional work instructions. Performs all operations in a safe manner while providing proper care for the equipment, machine(s), and product. Completes necessary quality inspections using certified measuring devices to assure all products stay within acceptable tolerances as provided by the company. Operates equipment and machine(s) as efficiently as possible to maximize productivity across all product types while maintaining safe work procedures and quality specifications provided by the company. Maintains good housekeeping of the assigned work area and company property. Completes production and maintenance reports as required and follows production planning as assigned by Supervision. Inspects and lubricates equipment and machine(s) prior and during operation to verify they are in proper working condition. Notifies Supervision when equipment/machine(s) require repair or adjustments and assists with such as necessary. Adjusts equipment and machine(s) for various size products and verifies product meets quality specifications after adjustments. Makes minor changes and adjustments to the equipment and machine(s) as necessary. Possesses thorough knowledge of the equipment and machine(s) mechanical, hydraulic, and control technologies to properly operate the equipment and machine(s). Operates the Snyder Dressing Mill in Machine Shop to perform various machining operations on the product with minimum E&D. Utilizes auxiliary equipment to transport products to and from the machine as well as in position on the machine(s). Verifies, indexes, changes, and maintains proper tooling on the machine(s) as necessary and notifies Supervision when additional tooling is required. Monitors product for imperfections requiring rework, completes rework machining when necessary, and/or applies proper identification markings on the product when necessary. Keeps the machine(s) clear of turnings. Performs all other miscellaneous duties as assigned by Supervision.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, feel, talk, and hear. Must be able to pick, pinch, type, or otherwise work, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.
Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The worker is required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as: operates machines, such as lathes, drill presses, power saws, and mills where the seeing job is at or within arm’s reach; performs mechanical or skilled trades tasks of a non-repetitive nature, such as carpenter, technicians, service people, plumbers, painters, mechanics, etc. The worker is subject to environmental conditions. Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. The worker is subject to extreme cold. Temperatures typically below 32 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity. The worker is subject to extreme heat. Temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity. The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level. The worker is subject to vibration. Exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body. The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals. The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions. One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Must have a High School Diploma or GED. Must have a valid Driver’s License. Must be available to work all three shifts including overtime and weekends. Must demonstrate self-motivation and problem solving skills in a fast- paced setting. Ability to manage multiple tasks at one time. Experience performing mathematical concepts related to machining. Ability to safely and precisely operate/utilize CNC milling machines, lathes, grinders, and associated tooling including set up. Experience accurately utilizing precision measurement equipment and hold tolerances. Experience in reading and understanding blue prints.
