DFI is a manufacturer of thermoformed disposable plastic packaging, primarily for the food industry. We are seeking a full-time SlitterAssistant. This is a direct hire position for the DFI-SC Extrusion Department (no staffing agencies involved). Job Description Working with the Slitter Operator, the Slitter Assistant is responsible to ensure that all OPS production is slit, wound, labeled, packaged and shipped accurately according to the plant production schedule. The assistant is expected to learn all aspects of the operators position, including, but not limited to preparing and making slit roll width changes on the slitter, running the slitter in the operators place, as needed, and accurately keeping and reporting inventory records for all production shipped. Requirements You must have a strong work ethic and references that will confirm this, and speak English fluently. Two years experience in a similar manufacturing position required. Any further technical education a plus. Must have a high degree of mechanical aptitude, good command of basic mathematics and able to work in a fast paced environment. Ability to use basic quality testing equipment and all forms of machine controls from manual dials, pushbuttons, meters, etc., to computerized machine interface touch screens, etc. About the company Founded in 1962 in Detroit, DFI is a privately held, debt-free, midsized manufacturer that has not had a layoff in its history. Benefits:
