Tooling Technician Position Available In Spartanburg, South Carolina

Tooling Technician Bericap SC LLC Cowpens, SC 29330 We are seeking a talented tooling technician to join our growing team!

Position Purpose :

The purpose of the Tooling Technician is to perform routine maintenance on plastic injection molds both in the press and on the bench under the direct supervision of the Tooling Supervisor. This consists of disassembling, cleaning, organizing and reassembling complex tooling.

Responsibilities:

General Ensures that all work undertaken is carried out safely and without injury Ensures Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are followed at all times (no jewelry, cell phone, nicotine in any form, etc.) Ensure all quality, food safety, environmental as well as all other Company policies and procedures are followed Ensure that all quality, food safety, safety, and environmental issues are reported to the appropriate manager or supervisor Housekeeping duties performed throughout the shift Ability to lift 35 pounds unassisted and while standing/walking for duration of shift Develop, implement, and support Continuous Improvements Programs Initiates corrective action for non-conformances Identify Opportunities for Improvement and enter into See It, Sort It, Report It system Able and willing to wear appropriate PPE as required Able to work shifts, unscheduled overtime, weekends and holidays as needed Duties as assigned per Tooling Manager Tooling Functions Performing mold related services to schedule (dates due and duration of downtime) Setting and pulling molds in and out of the injection machines Providing support to the maintenance and mold shop crew as required Tools and equipment are the right for the job and in good working order Responsible for maintaining mold related records and history in designated network folder and appropriate systems Execute mold maintenance activities in a manner that achieves the department KPI’s Timely response to Mold related issues on production floor Maintaining the injection molds at a level that focuses on preservation and product quality at or better than production standards Responsible for cleanup of water, grease and oil after mold installs Initiate action for part containment repairs Maintaining the following: Injection Molds (troubleshooting, inspection, repairs, cavitation, PMs) spare mold related tooling (safe storage, accurate inventory count, internal request for purchases of tooling components) and cleaning supplies associated with mold maintenance to include the solutions in the FISA sonic cleaner

Skills:

Competent in several of the following areas: reading blueprints, pneumatics, hydraulics, machine shop equipment, metal fabrication, mechanical principles and basic math. Geometry and trigonometry a plus Basic riggings skills to manage assembled molds and mold plates Basic welding skills a plus  Working knowledge of injection molding machines Good communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and in writing Basic computer skills

Experience:

3-5 years’ experience in the following areas preferred: Mold troubleshooting and repair, hot runner system repair, close tolerance components, injection molding process and troubleshooting Ability to use machine shop equipment such as: lathe, mills, surface grinders, measurement equipment and basic functions of an injection molding machine Working knowledge of a computerized maintenance management system ISO or similar quality system and SQF or similar food safety system preferred

Education:

Technical college diploma in related field or Industrial License is preferred
