Design 3.0 3.0 out of 5 stars 3291 S Byron Butler Pkwy, Perry, FL 32348 Design Technician Position Description Works with management, sales, and production staff to develop tools, develop, modify, and implement designs, or integrate machinery, equipment, or computer technologies to ensure effective manufacturing processes and meet customer and company expectations for product designs and design updates/implementation and sales. Recommends corrective or preventive actions to assure or improve product quality or reliability. Recommends technical design or process changes to improve efficiency, quality, or performance. Prepares layouts, drawings, or sketches of machinery or equipment, such as shop tooling, scale layouts, or new equipment design, using drafting equipment or computer-aided design (CAD) software. Creates graphical representations of industrial production systems. Identifies and implements new manufacturing technologies, processes, or equipment. Implements design and/or process improvements. Identifies opportunities for improvements in quality, cost, or efficiency of automation equipment. Monitors and/or measures manufacturing processes to identify ways to reduce losses, decrease time requirements, or improve quality. Monitor the productivity or efficiency of industrial operations. Ensures adherence to safety rules and practices. Assists in input and coordination of equipment purchases, installations, or transfers. Purchases materials, equipment, or other resources. Assists in the planning, estimating, or scheduling production work. Estimates time requirements for development or production projects. Prepares detailed work plans. Develops and/or maintains programs associated with automated production equipment. Develops technical methods or processes. Select material quantities or processing methods needed to achieve efficient production. Determines operational, technical methods or processes methods. Selects project materials. Estimates manufacturing costs. Estimates operational costs. Assists in the installation and evaluation process of manufacturing equipment, materials, or components. Evaluates characteristics of equipment or systems. Assists in equipment start-up, characterization, qualification, or release. Support quality control activities. Creates computer applications for manufacturing processes or operations, using computer-aided design (CAD) or computer-assisted manufacturing (CAM) tools. Assists in the development of manufacturing infrastructure to integrate or deploy new manufacturing processes. Designs industrial processing systems. Verifies weights, measurements, counts, or calculations and record results on batch records. Verifies mathematical calculations. Assists in the design of plant layouts or production facilities. Operates complex processing equipment and industrial equipment. Trains manufacturing technicians on topics such as the operation of equipment, production process, safety, health, fire prevention, or quality. Some travel may be expected. Performs other duties as assigned.
