Is responsible for learning the duties involved in plant operation, necessary laboratory analysis, established procedures, and routine maintenance and servicing of equipment and machinery under the guidance of a Plant Operator I or II. Reports to Chiefs Operator.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
High School or GED equivalent. Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record. Driver’s license must not have been suspended within five (5) years of the date of this application (Not Insurance related).Completion of a FDEP approve course in Water/Wastewater plant operation within 6 months of employment.
Must obtain a Class “C” water or wastewater plant operators license from the Florida Department of Professional Regulation within 18 months of employment. Certifications and/or licenses must be attached to application. Applicants Must Have One (1) of the
Following:
At least two (2) months of experience in the operation of electrical and mechanical machinery.
Passed and approved a Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Resident Correspondence or online course in Water or Wastewater (Final course completion letter or documentation must be attached when submitting an application). Preferred:
A valid Class “B” Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with an air brake endorsement as issued by the State of Florida.
