Summary of Essential Job FunctionsIs responsible for personally performing a wide variety of duties involved in generating electricity.
Periodically checks specified meters, gauges and/or recorders including Supervisory Control System. Records data to appropriate logs. Data includes such information as AC Volts, DC volts, load gate limit, gate position, bearing temperature, hydraulic pressure, damper position, extraction pressure, steam exhaust pressure, inlet pressure, etc. Analyzes data and takes appropriate action. Calls to the attention of the Operator in charge any recordings that are unusual or inconsistent with previous recordings for his actions.
As required, assists Operator in charge in economically dispatching steam, gas or hydro generating units.
Puts steam, gas, or hydro units on line and/or assists in deleting units from line.
Performs generating functions and duties such as dumping ashes, making feed water tests, blowing soot, adjusting fans, pumps and pulverizes, etc.
As required, notes and records data on all outside plant equipment.
If problems exist, takes corrective action and/or contacts supervisor or maintenance to take action.[]{style=”font-size:”}
