POSITION DESCRIPTION

This position is accountable for leading a team of employees that are responsible for the Compression, Pipeline, Corrosion, and Measurement operations and maintenance (O&M) activities associated with compliance according to

DOT 192, EPA / DEQ, OSHA

regulations, and Inter-Company / Industry related policies and procedures for Gulf South’s Mississippi Gulf Coast assets, which include Kiln Compressor Station and Moss Point Compressor located in Mississippi and the Airport Compressor Station located in Alabama. The areas of operation include natural gas reciprocating compression equipment, turbine compression equipment, natural gas pipelines, and natural gas delivery and receipt meter stations.
Responsibilities include ensuring: 1) the safe, compliance, and reliable operations of compressor stations, pipelines, corrosion control, and measurement facilities, 2) the reliable, effective, and efficient performance of personnel as related to O&M activities associated with maintaining compliance according to the aforementioned regulations, policies along managing the budget for the areas. Duties include, but are not limited to; working with Area Personnel, Operations Support, Engineering, Construction, and other area Leaders to ensure efficient performance of all facilities, developing/training employees, managing work schedules, overseeing and pursuing excellence in the company’s safety program, responding to emergency situations, ensuring gas quality, coordinating shut-downs and outages through Gas Control, working with the legal department, working with the ROW group regarding easements, property owner complaints and lease renewals.
The position will be filled as an Area Supervisor or Area Manager commensurate with experience. The successful Candidate will be required to report and office at Gulf South’s Gulfport Field Office facility in Gulfport, MS.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE

Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
5 to 10 years’ experience in the natural gas compression and transmission pipeline industry.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership, and strong computer skills along with economic and critical thinking skills.
Ability to read and implement the O&M manual and the ability to read drawings, alignment sheets, and valve maps.
Ability to manage multiple situations simultaneously.
Ability to work in extreme weather and noise conditions and the ability to stand for long durations.
Ability to work effectively within a team environment and maintain good working relationships with governmental and customer counterparts. Also required, is self-motivation, commitment to and a strong advocate of personal and team safety, along with a strong work ethic.

PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE

Three to Five years’ experience in a supervisor position in the natural gas industry or equivalent industry
Understanding of DOT 192 regulations
Technical school or college

REQUIRED EDUCATION

High School Diploma

PREFERRED EDUCATION

Associate’s degree / Bachelor’s degree
