Expected salary range of $149,400 to $166,000, variesbased on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package thatincludes bonus and 401(k).

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Directlymanages the Radiation Protection ALARA Analysts, RadiationProtection outage planner activities in their daily support ofplant Operations and maintenance activities. Is responsible forassuring that the Radiation Protection Department maintains astrong ALARA program through proper monitoring, assessments, andevaluation of plant exposure data. Is responsible for theregulatory knowledge and training of the ALARA staff necessary toimprove station and departmental performance. Ensure the RadiationProtection technical programs are in compliance with federal,state, and company regulations in the areas of monitoring personalinternal and external radiation exposure, radioactive wastepackaging and shipment, radioactive source control, respiratoryprotection and instrumentation. Is the site expert with regards toHealth Physics technical evaluations and regulatory issues.

PRIMARYDUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Owner of the Site’s ALARA program.

Ensure that the ALARA program meets the standards set forth in theguidance documents and maintains site exposure as low asachievable. Responsible for the maintenance and coordination of theRadiation Protection programs including: Unconditional Release,Radioactive Source Control, RP Instrumentation, Internal andExternal Dosimetry Program and records and Radioactive MaterialControls. Participate in Business Planning, Budget and BusinessPerformance review regarding RP and the site. Fulfill managerialresponsibilities regarding assigned staff (e.g. Employment,Development, Compensation, Performance Evaluation, etc.). Ensureconsistent and effective work force practices through assignedsupervisors/functions. Assist the Radiation Protection OperationsManager in developing, reviewing and implementing departmentprocedures and policies, and assuring that these documents meet allfederal and company regulations. Attend Peer meetings to assurethat industry best practices and standards are being implementedeffectively and uniformly across all sites. Accountable forensuring that department activities, priorities and resources arebeing managed effectively. Providing Critical observations andfeedback to site and departmental staffing to foster continuousimprovement. Responsible for the management of the RadioactiveWaste Shipping Program, including DAW control and storage ofradwaste.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must have Bachelor’s degree inHealth Physics or equivalent and a minimum of 5 years professionallevel experience at a nuclear reactor facility OR Associate degreein Health Physics (or related science) with 7 years of professionalexperience at a nuclear reactor facility OR Minimum of 9 yearsprofessional experience in radiation protection at a nuclearreactor facility Successful completion of coresupervisory/management training and development programs Must betechnically knowledgeable of regulatory and industry standards forhighly effective ALARA program

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Successfulcompletion of NRRPT or CHP certifications Strong knowledge of Codeof Federal Regulations, Station Technical Specifications, and FinalSafety Analysis Report documents
