Job Description Position Purpose:

Thepurpose of this position is to provide opportunity for developmentof Water Treatment Plant Operators and/or Maintenance Technicians.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

Train in all duties related to aWater Treatment Plant Operator and Maintenance Technician. Dutieswill include but not be limited to: Conduct routine water testingand recording test results. Ensuring quality of treated water meetsfederal and local regulations and company standards. Monitoring allcharts, gauges, and other operating equipment at treatment plant(s)or within the distribution system, utilizing SCADA. Preparing andsubmitting routine state and regulatory reports for review.

Calculating the chemical feed rate required, calibrating feedequipment, and adjusting feed rate per lab tests or supervisor’sinstructions. Calibrating instruments, taking chemical deliveries,and general site maintenance. The employee will be required to workshifts as assigned with appropriate notice, including nights andweekends. The employee in this position will progress to fill thenext vacancy as an operator or relief operator so long as they meetthe minimum requirements or if they don’t meet the minimumrequirements, it will be at the sole discretion of the company asto whether they are assigned to fill the vacant position.

Qualifications Education/Experience/Background:

High SchoolDiploma/GED is required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Excellentorganizational skills related to project management and recordkeeping. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and basic knowledge of watertreatment methods, water chemistry and tests, federal, state, andlocal drinking water regulations and company standards, and watercollection systems. Basic mechanical skills.

RequiredCertification/Licenses/Training:

Valid driver’s license isrequired. Appropriate operator’s license or water certificate andsub-classifications are not required for application, butdesirable. May be required to test for and pass a PA Operator’s Aexam in the future, unless already attained.
