DESCRIPTION OF
WORKAs a Corrections Utility Plant Operator, you will oversee inmate work crews performing tasks related to the operation, maintenance, and repair of the boiler plant at SCI Fayette. You will lead the efficient operation of four natural gas fired high temperature hot water boilers and two natural gas fired steam boilers. You will also use manual and automatic control operation systems, perform maintenance and operational assessments, and interpret visual and aural gauges, meters, and sensing devices. This role requires the ability to troubleshoot problems and provide appropriate resolutions as well as a genuine desire to establish effective working relationships that enable inmates to learn the standard principles of boiler plant operation. In addition, you will plan assignments, monitor inmates using attendance logs, conduct contraband searches, and adhere to safety and control protocols at all times. Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Monday
- Friday, with a 30-minute lunch
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
- QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of a steam or hot water generating plant, or a steam and electric generating plant;
- or•An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
