ScanningDigital Technician Job Description HF Group, LLC Digital Solutions Division (DS) specializes in the high quality digitization of books, newspapers, documents, maps, and other items of historical significance. Our work includes items from the 15th through the 20th and 21st centuries, and our clients include Ivy League universities, museums, historical societies, government, and private collections. Our deliverable must meet the high expectations of our prestigious clients. ScanningDigital Technician The primary task will be the creation of digital images from books and documents using a variety of scanning equipment: flat bed scanners, auto document feeders and camera-based systems. A qualified candidate will have intermediate computer skills, along with an understanding of the Windows operating systems. Key skills include being able to copy and paste files, rename and create folder structures, and the ability to type effectively.

Requirements:

Photoshop High School diploma or G.E.D. Understanding of the Windows operating systems. General familiarity with the operation of standard Windows software applications. Knowledge of common image formats such as TIFF, JPEG, JPEG200, PDF, etc. Quick learner, troubleshooter, and ability to “think outside the box”. Extreme attention to detail and quality focused, Able to communicate comfortably in English. Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Preferred Skills Some knowledge in the areas of Digital Arts, graphic design, digital photography or other computer or imaging related technologies. Knowledge of Windows computers. Ability to type accurately. Interest in, and appreciation of history.
