Job Summary:
Operate various size press brake machines and support the production team by assembling parts, operating machinery, punching or sawing metal products as instructed. Produce a variety of parts, all of which must meet dimensional specifications of the mechanical engineered drawings.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan sequence of operations, applying knowledge of physical properties of metal. Select proper punches and dies based on material thickness and type. Set up tooling, load programs and set machine parameters to ensure optimal performance of the equipment. Determine if tools are undamaged and in safe condition for use. Work in a fast-paced environment with fast changing priorities. Keep work area clean and organized. Provide a great level of attention to detail. Work in a team environment to maximize productivity and efficiency.
Education and Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 2 years of experience operating and programming CNC Press Brake Machines.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to read blueprints and a knowledge of engineered specified tolerances. Solid background working with sheet metal. Knowledge of tooling and tool maintenance. Basic knowledge of AutoCAD preferred, but not required. Proven measurement and mathematical fraction/decimal conversion skills. Ability to distinguish material types including Aluminum, Steel and Stainless Steel, Copper and Brass. Able to read a tape measure and calipers.
Work Environment:
Ability to lift and move objects up to 50lbs. Ability to stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods during shift. Required to wear proper personal protective equipment. Ability to work in manufacturing facilities and regularly be exposed to varying and extreme temperatures, loud noises, dust, chemical fumes, sharp metal objects and heavy forklift traffic. This position is designated as a safety-sensitive job and therefore subject to drug and alcohol testing, including random testing.
