Full-Time / Hourly / Non-Exempt A well-established manufacturing company in Decatur, Alabama, is seeking a skilled and motivated Turret Lead to guide daily operations in the turret and laser fabrication area. This is a full-time, first-shift position running Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with pay based on experience, typically in the low to mid $20s per hour. Candidates must be available to work overtime as needed to meet production deadlines. As the Turret Lead, you will serve as the primary point of communication between operations leadership and the turret and laser machine operators. You will assign daily responsibilities, help troubleshoot machine issues, assist with tooling and setup, and ensure that production schedules stay on track. Using the Work Center Dispatch Report, you will prioritize jobs based on due dates and ensure the department maintains a high standard of efficiency, safety, and output quality. To succeed in this role, candidates must have hands-on experience operating punch press turret machines , with a strong preference for those familiar with Amada equipment . You should be comfortable performing the full range of turret and laser operator duties, including machine setup, operation, basic maintenance, and part inspections. This is a frontline leadership role, so previous supervisory or team lead experience is required. You’ll also be expected to provide operator training on safety, machine operation, and job expectations. Candidates should possess strong blueprint reading skills, the ability to follow routing instructions, and a working understanding of basic shop math. Good verbal and written communication skills are essential, as you’ll be interacting with multiple departments and maintaining accurate records. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. The physical demands of the job include frequent standing, lifting (up to 50 pounds), and working in and around active machinery throughout the shift.
