Summary This role is responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of the Kolbus Perfect Binding system to produce high-quality softcover books, manuals, catalogs, and other bound materials. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, a commitment to precision, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced production environment. Responsibilities Set up and operate the Kolbus Perfect Binder according to job specifications and production schedules. Review job tickets, imposition layouts, and finishing requirements to ensure accurate and efficient binding. Monitor all stages of the binding process, including feeding, gluing, cover attachment, trimming, and stacking. Inspect finished products to ensure proper alignment, glue application, and overall quality. Troubleshoot mechanical issues quickly and effectively to minimize downtime. Perform routine maintenance, adjustments, and cleaning of the machine as per manufacturer guidelines. Communicate with production, quality control, and scheduling teams to meet deadlines and resolve issues. Maintain accurate production records and adhere to all safety and quality standards. Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. 3+ years of experience operating perfect binders, with specific experience on Kolbus systems strongly preferred. Strong mechanical skills and experience with high-speed finishing equipment. Ability to read and interpret production job tickets and technical documents.
