Description
Weyerhaeuser Company is currently recruiting for a Planer Set-Up for our lumber manufacturing facility located in Bruce, MS. This operational role is key in safely ensuring the effective and efficient finishing of processed boards, resulting in the quality lumber that will be shipped to our customers.

Key Functions:

Set-Up and Align the Planer machine to mill specifications
Grind side heads, change knives, perform Planer PMs and repair Planer machine
Ensure a smooth lumber flow to and through the Planer machine and produce lumber with a high-quality finish
Qualifications
Able to work safely and follow all company policies and procedures
High school diploma or equivalent
Safe work history
Able to work well as a member of a team and autonomously
Able to work without close supervision
Good oral and written communication skills
Must demonstrate initiative, strong work ethic, and willingness to develop and hone technical skills
Must be familiar with hand tools and be able to use them to change knives, service the machine, etc.
Must be able to learn and understand basic computer operations
Must be will to help train others
Willing to travel for training and other mill leadership activities as needed
Successful completion of OPS2 assessment, background check and post-offer pre-employment drug screen and physical
Able to work any shift, weekends, overtime, holidays as needed
Able to work in extreme temperatures, in dusty and noisy conditions, while wearing safety equipment
Able to perform all essential job functions, which include changing saws/knives, lifting 2-20 pounds regularly, lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, climb steps and ladders, and standing or walking for 2-3 hours at a time for 10 to 12 hours.
