Roll Tender 3.3 3.3 out of 5 stars Saint Petersburg, FL 33716 The Roll Tender inspects and mounts specific paper on press while maintaining adequate levels of supplies and solutions throughout production periods. Prepares and mounts paper rolls at the infeed end of press, makes all splices, records used and unused paper. Inspect rolls of paper for blemishes or tears and cuts away damaged area with a knife. Removes roll of leftover paper from press after automatic splicing. Changes ink and maintains levels during run. Mixes fountain solutions at correct pH. Assists in hanging plates, webbing up and wash-ups. Fill out skid flags properly; moves skids as needed. Operates core straightener, hand jacks, and scales. Assist with press set-up, maintenance, and jogging when necessary. Learns the Second Press Operator duties and responsibilities, and fills in as needed. Replaces press rags and solutions, as needed. Cleaning press area during and at end of shift Adhere to Sandy Alexander’s quality and environmental policies, procedures, goals, and objectives and comply with all safety and work rules when performing duties. Complete and maintain all required checklists, paperwork, records, documents, etc. and maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
