Job Description
We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Flexographic Press Operator to join our print production team. This individual will be responsible for setting up, running, and maintaining flexographic printing presses to produce high-quality labels, packaging, and other printed materials. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of flexo printing processes and be committed to maintaining quality and efficiency on the production floor.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate flexographic presses (e.g., Mark Andy, Nilpeter, Comco, Webtron) in accordance with job specifications. Perform press make-readies, including mounting plates, setting dies, adjusting tension, and mixing inks. Monitor press runs for print quality, color consistency, and registration accuracy. Troubleshoot press and print issues, making necessary adjustments to maintain production standards. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of press equipment to ensure optimal performance. Complete and maintain production logs and quality control documentation. Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 5 years of experience operating flexographic printing presses. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Working knowledge of UV and water-based inks, substrates, and die-cutting. Ability to interpret job tickets, layouts, and color specifications. Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for long periods. Attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with multi-color press setups and print runs. Familiarity with narrow web or wide web flexo operations. Knowledge of color matching and ink management systems.
