GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

The Assistant Press Operator is responsible for helping the Automatic Press Operator stage and set up jobs by inserting or removing screens, squeegees, flood bars and inks to all necessary press heads. They may also help adjust press settings to achieve the desired print quality.

Requirements:
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Stage screens, inks, and product for each upcoming job, allowing for smooth transitions between jobs and faster set up times. Mix inks according to a formula and properly store them for future use. Clean equipment and keep the press running efficiently by always ensuring the necessary supplies are readily available. Communicate with Press Operator to streamline the upcoming workload and maximize efficiency. Add/remove screens, squeegees, flood bars, and inks to press heads. Pull substrates from automatic press and load onto conveyor dryer. Perform quality check of every print for defects. Clean various types of tools, equipment, and machinery.

SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Fold, bag, label, and package orders according to department standards. Help other production departments meet deadlines. Cross train throughout all production departments to expand job knowledge. Train others on this position’s duties and responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB
Education:

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience:

On-the-job training provided.

Basic math and computer skills. Reading comprehension. Ability to work independently and with others. Strong attention to detail and focused on quality. Ability to multitask. Willing to learn new processes and software. Ability to work with inks and chemicals. Organized. Coachable and open to change. Strong communication skills. Ability to establish priorities and problem solve under high volume scenarios. High level of discipline and ability to follow routines and processes. Flexible and adaptable to changing workload and information. Able to work overtime as needed to ensure on time delivery. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Monday
