Non-Exempt Company / Product Acco Material Handling Solutions (“Acco”) specializes in the manufacturing of material handling equipment, including hoists, cranes, carts and lifters. Its products are used primarily in industrial manufacturing and distribution environments, including aerospace, water treatment, heavy manufacturing, agriculture, mining, automotive, and logistics. Operating from three manufacturing facilities in the US, Acco provides ready to ship stock products or fully engineered custom devices. Products are sold through distributors, as well as to large direct customers. The Attalla operations specializes in the manufacturing of overhead cranes and patented track along with crane components. Job Summary Must have knowledge and skills to perform assembly utilizing engineering prints and/or written specifications within established task time. Must be able to make accurate counts and computer entries, correctly fill out necessary paperwork, and accurately tag. Must be able to use a forklift and other material handling equipment. Principal Duties and Responsibilities + Possess knowledge and ability to use shop mathematics, all charts, and table dimensions.
- + Assemble versatile products for our customers as required by the company from written specifications.
- + Lift 1 to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- + Reach, bend over, twist, stand, or walk for long periods of time to pull parts, replenish stocking locations, cycle count, load parts on pallets, and remove parts from boxes.
- Able to assemble products, use jib crane and some small machinery. + See, read, and write to comprehend safety warnings, visually observe machine functions, read instructions, and do necessary paperwork.
- Work orders, special instructions computer readouts, and to complete inventory control documents, cycle counts, etc.
- + Communicate with supervisors, planners, inspectors, etc.
- + Be able to learn and have a long-term memory for machine/crane controls and functions and to understand assembly instructions.
- To identify and locate parts and equipment and do many other functions of the job.
- + Punctuality and regular attendance are important to maintain manufacturing schedules.
- + Make accurate counts and computer entries; fill out necessary paperwork. + Operate a forklift safely and efficiently if properly trained.
- + Able to work with computers or be trained on them.
