Assembler I Job Description As an Assembler I, you will be responsible for building, testing, and packaging small parts and products. This role requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to follow repetitive assembly procedures. You will use hand tools and medium-sized machines to ensure products meet quality standards. Responsibilities Read and interpret simple blueprints, specifications, work orders, or reports to verify assembly process and quality requirements. Take direction from supervisor to understand assembly procedures and production goals. Follow assembly procedures to build parts using hands and small machinery. Explain assembly procedures or techniques to other workers. Position, align, or adjust workpieces or parts to facilitate assembly. Clean parts using cleaning solutions, air hoses, and cloths. Pack finished parts for shipment, including labeling and bagging parts, adding the corresponding instruction information, and placing bagged parts into boxes. Examine products to verify quality, including Bonnet to Body Testing and ECL the person quality issues, determining causes, and reworking parts as necessary. Essential Skills Experience in production or manufacturing. Ability to read calipers and work with micrometers. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and torque tools. Capability to keep up with higher speed production. Working knowledge of the English language, both oral and written. Strong attention to detail and vision. Ability to lift 45 pounds and perform repeated physical tasks. Manual dexterity for coordinated hand and finger movements. Ability to stand for 8 hours a day. Skill in active listening and following directions. Additional Skills & Qualifications Integrity, reliability, responsibility, and accountability. Ability to perform work safely. Work Environment The work environment is clean, well-lit, and climate-controlled. The role requires working either on the 1st Shift from 5 AM to 3 PM, or the 2nd Shift from 3 PM to 1 AM, Monday through Thursday. Overtime is common and mandatory when scheduled, typically involving 8 hours on Friday and 5 hours on Saturday. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elon, North Carolina. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 – $18.00/hr.
