Job Title:
Equipment Assembly Technician (Full-time) Flexcell ® International Corporation , based in Burlington, NC. Flexcell® manufacturers dynamic cell- stretching bioreactor equipment and specialized cell culture plates for the global life science research industry. The Equipment Assembly Technician works with the Equipment Production team to manufacture, assemble, calibrate and test system controller units. The position does require some customer-facing communication for Technical Support, with potential travel to customer sites for set-up services. The Equipment Assembly Technician must have experience with commercial-level electronics assembly methods, ability to follow Build of Materials (BOMs) for wiring assemblies, electrical components, including transducers, proportional valves, solenoid valves, controller boards and computer modules, clean room work environments and electronics testing, validation methods (NRTL National Research Testing Lab methods and CE procedures) and knowledge of PLC software programming is beneficial. The candidate will follow the team’s production schedules, help track critical component parts, maintain BOMs and update inventories within the operating system. The candidate should have knowledge of Quality Control (QC) methods in manufacturing, particularly in electronics fabrication. This position follows device build-up protocols in a precise, step by step process, tests each device safely, and calibrates each device according to current standards. The Equipment Assembly Technician has no direct reports. Perform various tasks which may include, but are not limited to: Build-up assemblies from component parts to final finished goods. Calibrating, testing, and performing Quality Controls on equipment. Able to work with operating system software for controller units Maintaining minimum stock levels of equipment systems inventory Maintain all in-house machinery (example: vacuum pumps and air compressor). Fabricating component wiring harnesses for internal controller boards. Able to use soldering tools and equipment for circuit board assemblies. Follow Solid Works designs, print, polish, assemble 3D printed parts. Maintain current build-up protocols and technical user manuals.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate (AS) degree in Engineering, Electronics Technology, or Industrial Technology/Mechatronics 3 years’ work experience in instrument assembly, electrical manufacturing Must have Microsoft suite proficiency (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) SolidWorks and/or CAD design software experience is beneficial Must have excellent communication skills in both verbal and written skillsets. Trouble shooting, problem solver mind-set.
