Job Description
Assembly Technician BYK-Gardner USA Fairport, NY 14450 GENERAL
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the correct assembly of products and components.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Assemble products using both hand and power tools Read drawings, procedures or schematics for correct assembly Manufacture viscosity and color tubes according to procedures using an oxy-propane torch for constricting glass tubing. Certify density cups, viscosity and color tubes using designated test equipment Occasional certification of Ford, Din, ISO and Zahn flow cups Use generated data to create certification reports according to
ISO 17025
procedures Inspect product completion for accuracy and uniformity Check inventory to ensure number of correct materials on hand Regularly report to your Manager concerning materials needed and output Maintain a clean and orderly work area
Skills & Traits:
Ability to read a drawing or schematic Ability to use an oxy-propane torch and learn glass assembly techniques Demonstrated safe handling of chemicals Good verbal and written communication skills Proficient in MS Word & Excel Values teamwork and interest in learning
Education & Experience:
High School diploma or GED required Some experience in a technical lab setting Some experience with electro-mechanical assembly Familiar with hand and power tools
Special Position Requirements:
This position requires regular lifting of up to 50lbs and consistent fine manipulation / manual dexterity. Ability to travel periodically to Columbia, MD location.
