Description The Production Assembler I assemble fabricated parts, components or units at floor stations. Uses hand tools and/ or power tools to assemble units according to product specifications. A Production Assembler I test and/or calibrates parts to meet tolerances and product specifications. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Being a Production Assembler I possess a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Requires 0 – 1 year of general work experience
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Produces components by assembling parts and sub-assemblies according to Standard Work Instructions.
- Reads and assembly instructions.
- Prepares work by gathering parts, sub-assemblies, tools, and materials.
- Prepares, inspects, or measures raw material.
- Positions and aligns parts and sub-assemblies by using templates or reading measurements (tape measure).
- Uses hand tools or machines to assemble parts.
- Verifies specifications by measuring completed component.
- Ensure all work assignments are completed within specified job cycle times.
- Use of computer/touch screen to process assembly progress.
- Cleans and maintains work area and equipment, including tools.
- Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.
- Reports any deficiencies in product assembly and machine operation to their supervisor.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Comply with all Miller Edge Health and Safety Regulations.
- Cross-train to other areas of the assembly process.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Mechanical and technical skills
- Ability to read English to understand sales orders, measuring tapes and operate weight scales
- Detail-oriented and consistent performance.
- Basic ability with mathematics, reading and writing.
- Ability to operate electric equipment and hand powered tools.
- Ability to operate computers, printers, keyboards and label-making equipment.
- Focus on quality control and safety
- Dexterity and hand-eye coordination, including the ability to grasp, manipulate, and assemble parts and components that are often very small
- Must be able to work overtime as needed to support business activities.
- Ability to interact with other employees within the company.
- Ability to be part of a team.
