Role:
We are looking for a Component Assembler within our Mag Assembly department. The component assembler is responsible for putting together component parts or pieces adhering to a specified set of blueprints or schematics. They verify the correct quantities of components parts and quality checking completed items, manage parts inventory, and use hand tools and mechanical equipment to produce structurally sound products and structures. This position ensures customer satisfaction by providing safe, reliable operation of Eriez equipment that is intended to protect our customers and their customers.
Responsibilities include:
Use specialized tools and fixtures electrical and mechanical to complete assembly.
Follow assembly procedures, instruction manuals and material/pick lists to complete assemblies.
Ability to work with epoxies and adhesives as required in the assembly applications.
Maintain clean and safe work area.
Perform similar and related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Able to perform basic tack/spot welds. Welding.
Ability to straighten material after welding.
Prepares, assembles, and tacks weld parts and surfaces to be welded.
Design, create and/or modify fixtures to improve safety and production.
Operate plasma cutter and ceramic saw.
Operate overhead cranes, clamping devices, presses and porta power.
May need to operate power equipment such as forklifts and scissor lifts.
Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area.
Performs other related duties as assigned. Maintain clean and safe work area.
Complete tasks timely and efficiently in accordance with expectations as directed by supervisor.
Able to operate tools including but not limited to, hand tools, manual machine tools, torch, drill press, etc.
Ability to learn Eriez labor and work order collection system.
Notify supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.
Requirements
A high school diploma is preferred.
More than 2 years of general assembly job experience or specialized training
Knowledge of how to weld and operate a Mig welder.
It’s a benefit if you’ve worked with powered and manual tools before.
Requires basic math and technical skills.
Skills in mechanics and technology
Concentrate on quality assurance.
