Position Scope:

The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the manufacturing facility, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures. This leadership role encompasses strategic planning, resource allocation, workforce development, and cross-functional coordination to achieve production goals in a fast-paced, technically complex environment. This role carries full responsibility for the safe, efficient, and profitable performance of the plant.

Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership:

Oversee all plant operations, including safety, production, quality, maintenance, and logistics. Monitor and ensure adherence to the production schedule to meet delivery timelines efficiently and productively. Drive a culture of continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.

Production Planning:

Evaluate projects prior to launch to determine required materials and human resources. Adjust production plans as needed to meet shifting demands and resolve capacity issues.

Quality Assurance:

Ensure that supervision thoroughly inspects products at every stage for quality and compliance. Collaborate with the Quality Manager to review internal and field service reports and implement corrective actions.

Workforce Development:

Facilitate training programs to ensure a skilled, disciplined, and policy-compliant workforce. Mentor department supervisors in collaboration with the Superintendent to strengthen leadership capability.

Staffing & Performance:

Determine optimal staffing levels and participate in hiring decisions. Manage overtime proactively and address capacity constraints in coordination with scheduling. Monitor KPIs and other performance metrics regularly with leadership and take corrective action as needed.

Safety & Compliance:

Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing safety standards and delivering regular safety training. Lead incident investigations and implement preventive measures. Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulatory bodies.

Plant Organization & Systems:

Oversee plant workflow and ensure daily adherence to the FläktGroup Execution System (FES), Quality Management System, and 5S standards.

Strategic & Financial Responsibilities:

Develop and execute strategies to improve plant efficiency, reduce costs, and support long-term growth. Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and R D to optimize manufacturability and introduce new products. Manage capital projects, plant expansions, and equipment upgrades. Prepare and manage the annual plant budget and control operating costs. Maintain responsibility for all facility assets, including personnel and equipment.

Authority:

Make decisions that support achieving company sales and profitability goals. Lead and manage plant personnel, including hiring, disciplinary actions, training, and performance evaluations. Authorize equipment and component purchases in line with company policy. Implement process and fabrication changes to maintain or improve product quality. Manage and improve labor relations.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. Minimum of 7 years in manufacturing leadership, including 3+ years in a plant management role. Strong understanding of core manufacturing technologies and operations. Demonstrated success with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement practices.
