Production Manager 4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars Miami, FL Production Manager Talento has partnered with a privately held organization in South Florida on a search for a Production Manager with direct experience in luxury boat production . This role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the production floor, ensuring that manufacturing runs efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. You will lead production planning, staff management, and workflow optimization while maintaining the craftsmanship and precision required for premium marine products. Responsibilities Plan, organize, and manage production schedules to meet customer demands and production targets specific to luxury marine vessels. Oversee lamination and other specialized production processes, ensuring adherence to high-end quality standards and safety regulations. Optimize workflows to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and minimize material waste, particularly within lamination and finishing areas. Supervise and lead a team of production staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation, with a focus on boatbuilding craftsmanship. Conduct regular team meetings to communicate production goals and maintain a culture of collaboration and accountability. Promote and enforce safety procedures across all work areas, particularly in handling resins, molds, and heavy equipment used in boat manufacturing. Maintain strict quality control to ensure all boats meet luxury standards and customer specifications. Resolve quality issues quickly and effectively, collaborating closely with the Quality Assurance team for continuous improvement. Manage inventory of marine-grade materials, composites, and hardware, ensuring availability for uninterrupted production. Coordinate maintenance and repair of production tools and equipment to ensure operational readiness. Implement cost-effective strategies while preserving production quality and efficiency. Analyze production metrics and lead continuous improvement efforts, including Lean and Six Sigma initiatives, where applicable. Stay informed of advancements in marine manufacturing techniques and integrate best practices into the operation. Maintain accurate production documentation, including safety logs, quality control records, and performance reports. Provide senior leadership with regular updates on production performance, challenges, and improvement initiatives. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred). Minimum of 5 years of experience in a production management role within the luxury boat manufacturing industry , ideally including lamination . Strong leadership and team development capabilities, with an emphasis on coaching skilled tradespeople. In-depth understanding of boat production processes, marine materials, and quality assurance for high-end vessels. Proficient in production planning tools and Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodologies (preferred). Ability to thrive in a dynamic, hands-on, and detail-oriented production environment. Must be able to work on-site in a manufacturing facility, with occasional physical demands such as standing, lifting, and exposure to industrial equipment.
