A leading, well-established manufacturer of premium tissue products is seeking an experienced Paper Mill Manager to lead mill operations at its modern production facility in Macon, Georgia. The Opportunity
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Paper Mill Manager will be responsible for overseeing all operational functions of the paper mill. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, hands-on leader with strong experience in safety, quality, production, and continuous improvement in a high-performance manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for both hourly and salaried staff in the paper manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and support day-to-day mill operations, including scheduling, planning, and resource management
Drive a strong safety culture through proactive engagement, accountability, and hazard mitigation
Develop and execute long-term strategic plans (3-5 years) for mill performance and efficiency
Monitor KPIs related to production, cost, quality, safety, and environmental impact
Oversee boiler and wastewater operations
Lead and coach both salaried and hourly teams; promote professional development
Apply lean manufacturing principles and support continuous improvement initiatives
Collaborate cross-functionally with maintenance, engineering, and quality teams
Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Pulp & Paper Science
5-7 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing or mill operations environment
Solid understanding of centerlining, standard work, and quality systems
Proven track record in process improvement and Lean Manufacturing
Experience in tissue or paper machine operations essential. Experience of TAD is preferred.

Preferred:

Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt)
