As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Production Manager for our paper mill division. This position is based in Inola, OK, and includes a relocation package to support qualified candidates. The Production Manager will be responsible for managing the daily activities of the paper production process, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety standards are met. This role requires a strong background in paper manufacturing processes, team leadership, and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee the day-to-day paper production operations, including stock preparation, papermaking, coating, and finishing, to meet production targets and quality standards. Lead, coach, and mentor a team of production staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement. Efficiently allocate resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to optimize production output and minimize downtime. Ensure that paper products meet or exceed quality standards and customer expectations by implementing quality control measures. Promote and enforce safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for all employees. Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and efficiency improvements. Implement best practices and lean manufacturing principles. Manage raw materials and finished goods inventory to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize waste. Assist in the development and management of the department’s budget, controlling costs while meeting production goals.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in paper science, engineering, or a related field. 5 years experience in paper manufacturing, with at least in a supervisory or management role. Strong knowledge of papermaking processes, equipment, and quality control. Excellent leadership and team management skills. Problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance. Proficiency in using computer software for production planning and reporting. Ability to analyze data, solve problems, and make informed decisions. Commitment to safety and quality standards.
Work Environment:
The role involves working in a paper manufacturing facility, which may require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels is possible.
