Plant Manager 4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars 3440 Browns Mill Road SE, Atlanta, GA 30354 Recycled Materials has been in business since 1998 serving the Atlanta Metro and surrounding area businesses with all of their plastic recycling needs. Recycled Materials currently does business at 5775 Bucknell Dr., Atlanta, GA, 30336, but in July we will be moving to a new location: 3440 Brown’s Mill Rd SE, Atlanta, GA 30354. We would prefer someone who lives within 30 miles of the new location, but we are willing to make exceptions for the right person. Our Plant Manager has been with the company for 19 years and is planning to retire after we complete our move to the new location. We are seeking to back-fill the role ASAP so we can have as much training with the current Plant Manager as possible. This job description requires a wide range of skills. The Plant Manager fixes many of our machines, including forklifts, balers, grinders, and shredders, so the person filling this role must be mechanically handy and able to solve problems. There are often significant physical requirements (bending, lifting, moving, etc.) so the person filling this role must be able to perform those duties carefully without injuring themselves. Sometimes the heavy equipment needs electrical work, so someone with electrical experience would be a plus, but this is not a requirement. There are currently 13 employees that report to the Plant Manager. The person who fills this role must have leadership capabilities to ensure all of these employees are fulfilling their duties and that the plant is meeting its operational goals for production. Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to help guide, train, correct, and sometimes reprimand employees are a must. We are looking for someone who truly cares about people and understands how to encourage them to be their best. The Plant Manager also is responsible for purchasing raw materials and selling our finished goods. Basic math skills are a must as many of our decisions are based on various freight rates and margin calculations. The Owner of the company will teach the new Plant Manager all the particular formulas needed to figure out our pricing, but the person who fulfills this role must be able to understand how numbers, multiplication, division, and percentages work. The Owner works primarily in Excell, so a basic understanding of excel is a plus, but not required, as the Owner is willing to teach the new Plant Manager the ins and outs of that software. There are no educational requirements for this role, but clear communication and the ability to write professional emails are non-negotiables. The starting salary is $60,000 – $70,000 per year based off of experience, with an end-of-year bonus of up to $30,000 based off of performance goals.
