About the Position Pond is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive strategic growth in the chemical manufacturing sector. The ideal candidate brings both a strong book of business and a proven track record in process-driven sales within an AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction Management) firm. This individual will play a critical role in expanding our footprint across the United States by identifying and converting high-value opportunities with industrial and chemical manufacturing clients. This is a high-impact role for a results-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. You’ll collaborate closely with senior leadership, market directors, and technical teams to position Pond’s full range of AEC capabilities to meet complex client needs. Key Responsibilities Leverage existing client relationships and industry network to drive new business with chemical manufacturers and industrial clients. Lead the end-to-end business development lifecycle: market research, lead generation, qualification, proposal strategy, and closing. Utilize CRM systems (Salesforce, Deltek, HubSpot) to manage pipeline, track activities, and report on sales metrics. Conduct outbound prospecting using tools like ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and relevant databases. Collaborate with marketing and proposal teams to develop compelling presentations and customized pursuit strategies. Provide regular updates to sales management and executive leadership on pursuit progress, market trends, and revenue forecasts. Partner with project and engineering teams to ensure alignment between client expectations and service delivery. Travel as needed for client meetings, industry events, and internal coordination. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field. Minimum 8+ years of B2B sales experience in the AEC industry, with a strong focus on chemical manufacturing or industrial clients. Proven ability to bring and grow a book of business in the chemical manufacturing space. Deep understanding of A/E/CM services and how they support industrial facilities, process plants, or production operations. Strong proficiency in CRM platforms (Salesforce, Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint, HubSpot) and sales tools (ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator). Excellent executive communication and presentation skills. Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently while collaborating cross-functionally. Preferred Qualifications Experience navigating long sales cycles and complex procurement processes in regulated industries. Familiarity with safety, compliance, or permitting challenges faced by chemical manufacturers (EPA, OSHA, ISO, SCAQMD, etc.). Knowledge of process engineering and chemical manufacturing and how Pond & Company fits. Prior experience developing go-to-market strategies or launching new service offerings.
