Ronpak has an excellent opportunity for an Inplant Manager (Print/Ink Manager) at our Shreveport, LA plant. The Inplant Manager directs, coordinates, and plans the activities of the Ink Technicians. Communicates and trains on operational procedures to all Ronpak Ink Techs, assuring they are understood and implemented when applicable. Provides continued operational support and conducts Inplant quality audits.
Essential Job Functions:
Technical Possesses a mental and physical knowledge of all activities being supervised as well as printing operations. Assigns responsibilities for specific work on functional activities to ink technicians and its scheduling in conjunction with plant and customer requirements.
Functions include:
technical service, color matching, manufacture of batches under 100 pounds, QC of incoming and on-site manufactured batches, inventory management and housekeeping, record keeping, purchasing and other duties as required. Understands principles and practical functions of laboratory and production equipment and instruments and operates laboratory equipment and instruments where appropriate. Assists ink technicians in responding to customer needs with suggestions, based on his/her knowledge of the characteristics of inks and the substrate, on how to run a specific job, and assure that the suggested procedures are implemented. Oversees the inventory management to ensure that proper inventory levels are maintained in relation to customer needs and asset management guidelines. Provides written documentation on Inventory turn over. Quality Develops a “quality-consciousness and pride-in-quality” attitude within all ink technicians. Assures that ink technicians apply quality standards and control procedures to ensure products meet customer specifications and expectations. Spoilage Control (Workoff) Takes action to ensure that the most economical methods are utilized for reclaiming or disposing of workoff or obsolete colors. Cost Control Develops in the ink technician, a realization of the effect their individual function has on operating costs and a “cost-consciousness.” Efficiently and effectively utilizes work force and resources. Personnel and Other Applies Company employee relation policies and procedures in all contacts with personnel. Responsible for adherence to the Ronpak Employee Handbook and Ronpak’s Standards of Conduct. Responsible for the direct or indirect training of employees on the equipment they will be using. Initiates or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals. Follows all safety and environmental guidelines, regulations and policies and promotes their observance. Must be committed to a high standard of Environment, Health & Safety practices and be willing and able to comply with all EHS laws and all of the employer’s EHS policies and rules and must be willing to report EHS violations and potential EHS violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel. This may include participation in company EHS programs such as safety committees & required environmental regulatory plans. It is the responsibility of all Ronpak employees to adhere to the guidelines established in the Ronpak Quality Management System. Work area and environment will be maintained according to the 5S guidelines and the 5S Best Practices at the respective facilities. Responsible for reporting issues related to Food Packaging safety or quality. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school graduate, college degree preferred.
Preferred:
Level 1 & 2 ISTM training or equivalent.
Experience:
At least 2 to 5 years in ink industry, 1 to 3 years supervisory experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Computer skills. Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employer’s sole discretion.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Physical Demands of the
