Leadership Full Job Description Summary:
Dedicated and experienced Assembly Manager to lead our assembly operations at our facility. This is a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient operation of our assembly department, overseeing cost control and analysis of production variances, managing capital budget spend, optimizing production routing, and maintaining the highest quality standards. A strong background in LEAN and Six Sigma methodologies is essential for this role.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Leadership:
Lead, motivate, and manage a team of Supervisors over assembly providing guidance, training, coaching and performance feedback. Work with Human Resources on employee related topics, such as development and discipline.
Production Planning:
Develop and implement production schedules, ensuring on-time delivery of products, while maintaining the highest quality standards.
Process Improvement:
Continuously assess and improve assembly processes, methods, and equipment to enhance efficiency and productivity. Apply LEAN and Six Sigma tools and techniques to identify and address process inefficiencies.
Production Cost Analysis:
Analyze production cost variances and implement corrective actions to control costs, improve budget adherence, and enhance operational efficiency.
Quality Control:
Oversee quality control procedures and implement measures to prevent defects and ensure product quality, while incorporating Six Sigma principles to reduce defects and improve process capability.
Capital Budget Management:
Manage the allocation and spend of the capital budget, ensuring that investments in equipment and technology align with strategic objectives and result in operational improvements.
Production Routing:
Optimize production routing and scheduling to minimize waste and inefficiencies, and to maximize resource utilization, reducing lead times and enhancing customer satisfaction.
Safety Compliance:
Ensure a safe work environment, including compliance with all safety regulations and protocols. Implement and promote a culture of safety among the team.
Inventory Management:
Monitor and manage inventory levels to meet production requirements while minimizing excess or shortages, and use Six Sigma methods to optimize inventory control.
Reporting and Documentation:
Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to production activities, cost analysis, and performance metrics. •This job description indicates the general nature and level of work expected. REQUIREMENTS
Five years of proven experience in managing personnel within an assembly or manufacturing environment. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (or equivalent experience). Proven experience in assembly operations management within a manufacturing environment. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Knowledge of production cost analysis, cost control, and budget management. Proficiency in LEAN and Six Sigma methodologies, with relevant certifications. Knowledge of production routing optimization and resource allocation. Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards. Experience in implementing process automation and continuous improvement initiatives. The job may involve exposure to a manufacturing environment with noise, dust, and machinery. Preferred candidates would possess a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
