This role is critical in supporting heavy civil construction projects by managing concrete production and delivery schedules, coordinating with field crews, and ensuring the timely and consistent supply of concrete materials to job sites. Essential Functions Supervise all aspects of batch plant operations, including raw material inventory, equipment operation, maintenance scheduling, and quality control. Coordinate with project teams and field superintendents to meet daily production targets and delivery timelines. Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies. Maintain accurate records of concrete production, material usage, test results, and equipment performance. Monitor and adjust mix designs to meet project specifications and environmental conditions. Troubleshoot plant and equipment issues and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime. Oversee plant personnel, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management. Work with procurement and logistics teams to manage deliveries of raw materials such as cement, aggregates, and admixtures. Conduct daily safety meetings and ensure proper use of PPE and safety procedures. Support implementing quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) programs. Required Skills & Experience Minimum of 5 years of experience in concrete batch plant operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or superintendent role. Experience in heavy civil construction projects, including highways, bridges, and infrastructure work. Strong understanding of concrete mix designs, batching equipment, and production processes. Knowledge of applicable safety regulations (OSHA) and environmental compliance requirements. Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities under tight deadlines. Proficient in using multiple types of batch plant automation systems and production tracking software. Strong understanding of plan functions, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. Effective communication and leadership skills to manage a team and coordinate with cross-functional departments. A high school diploma or GED is required; technical training or an associate degree in construction management or a related field is preferred.
