Role and Responsibilities:

Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates to plan department operations. Make recommendations for process changes to improve quality and/or correct material flow. Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products. Reviews BOM requirements and compares existing stocks to determine what material must be procured to meet production schedule. Submits materials requisition to Purchasing Department. Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications. Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays. Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization. Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards. Resolve worker grievances or submit unsettled grievances to the Director of Operations for action. Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data. Responsible for Safety Program and compliance with OSHA Standards. Enforces work and safety rules as outlined in the Employee Handbook. Qualifications and Requirements:

Education and/or Experience

  • Four-year degree from college or technical school; or three to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, and statistics. Ability to read and understand customer drawings and specifications including tolerancing. Ability to work with both English and Metric numeric systems and convert easily between the two systems. Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Computer Skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft products, such as Outlook, Word, and Excel; MieTrak manufacturing software. Other Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of OSHA safe work practices; ability to read blueprints and customer specifications; knowledge of CNC machine set up and operation. Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand.

The employee is occasionally required to walk. The employee mayfrequently lift and/or move heavy materials, 50/75 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold and extreme heat.
