Production Manager Qualifications :

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university, or equivalent; and over two (2) years up to and including four (4) years’ experience leading a unit or group in a manufacturing environment; or any combination of education, experience and training. Prefer BS in Engineering.

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Math Ability:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in or from situations encountered in the job in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of: Word Processing software, Spreadsheet software, Internet software, Electronic Mail software, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, Labor Management (LMS/TA) software.

Knowledge of policies and practices involved in personnel/human resource functions. This includes recruitment, selection, training, and promotion regulations and procedures; compensation and benefits packages; labor relations and negotiation strategies; and personnel information systems. Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data. Knowledge of principles and methods involved in showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategies and tactics, product demonstration and sales techniques, and sales control systems. Knowledge of instructional methods and training techniques including curriculum design principles, learning theory, group and individual teaching techniques, design of individual development plans, and test design principles

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job is responsible for the supervision of associates involved in the manufacturing, distribution/warehousing, delivery and operations support of the plant or a large department. Managing and developing junior managers.
