 The Electrification and Automation (EA) Business Unit offers the full range of energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets and through all sales channels. We provide reliable power distribution grids of today while investing into our Future Grids portfolio and applications to create the power distribution grid of the future. Our comprehensive portfolio meets the growing technical requirements of todays and tomorrow’s power grid! We are looking for a Director of Solutions Production. This position will be based at Wendell, NC.As a Director of Solutions Production, you will set and decide manufacturing policies, standards and processes, and ensures appropriate coordination of all manufacturing activities regarding the interfaces between the single plants or sites in the plant cluster assigned.

Strategic Leadership:
Vision and Strategy:

Develop and communicate a clear vision for solutions production and assembly in multiple locations that are aligned with the organization’s goals.

Collaboration:

Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, product, project management office and business development, and engineering to align technical solutions production with business objectives.

Responsibilities:

Defines and ensures implementation of approved Manufacturing policies for assigned cluster.

Proceeds long-term planning of production resources. Derives the respective business and investment plans for sites in cluster assigned.

Decides manufacturing related budget and resource allocation in the cluster assigned.

Ensures managing and developing of all respective workflow process to ensure all production targets are achieved.

Ensures designing of short- and midterm development of the sites in cluster assigned and ensures setting up and monitoring of completion of agreed investment projects.

Heads overall organization assigned, and leads all related Management, Professionals and staff.

Team Management:
Recruitment:

Hire, mentor, and develop plant managers and plant support staff

Performance:

Responsible for production P&L. Set performance goals, conduct regular reviews, and provide constructive feedback.

Collaboration:

Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture.

Remote Team:

Manage remote team members in alternate plant locations.

Stakeholder Communication:
Executive Reporting:

Provide updates to senior management on solutions production initiatives, progress, and challenges.

Risk Management:

Identify and mitigate risks related to solution delivery by participating in risk reviews and sales-to-operation turn over meetings.

Basic Qualifications:
Education:

 Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience and education. Master’s degree preferred.

Experience:

 10+ years’ experience in operations management to include experience in materials management, production management, or quality managementAdequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources)Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertiseKnowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory, and stewardship processesComputer literacy, SAP and Salesforce.com experience preferredAbility to create accountability and to lead by exampleStrong team building, decision-making and people management skillsStrong understanding of operational processes and business acumen

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Siemens best practices and PM@Siemens processes preferredPreferred experience with production environment for power distribution, controls equipment in utility, industrial and data center markets.

Demonstrated experience with material logistics, production work cell setup and processes, testing requirements, production safety procedures, lean manufacturing processes, factory acceptance testing, quality standards, and production planning.
