Job Summary:
Bond Optics is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead and optimize our manufacturing operations. This critical role is responsible for overseeing production planning and scheduling, maintaining rigorous product quality standards, and providing strong, collaborative leadership across departments. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Production Manager will work closely with senior leadership and manufacturing teams to support our continued growth and operational excellence. The ideal candidate brings a strong technical background and proven experience in manufacturing management, including hands-on leadership of floor operations, process improvement, and production workflow optimization.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and optimize production schedules, resource allocation, and capacity planning to meet customer requirements and delivery timelines
- Develop, implement, and manage manufacturing processes to increase throughput, improve efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure the highest quality of custom, precision optics products
- Collaborate with the quality manager to identify areas for improvement, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process documentation to support manufacturing operations and quality systems
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production and implement data-driven strategies to optimize performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Sales, and Purchasing, to ensure seamless integration of manufacturing processes and customer requirements
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in the field of optics manufacturing, and recommend strategic investments in equipment and processes
Relevant Skills:
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards and quality management systems
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and responsive, with a strong sense of ownership and demonstrated ability to work autonomously
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to lead and motivate teams Qualifications (Education and Experience):
- Bachelor’s degree in Optical/Industrial/Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred
- Minimum 7 years of experience in production/manufacturing management
- Experience in optical fabrication is a plus Physical Requirements
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- Must be able to occasionally lift/carry up to 15 pounds Work Location
