Full Job Description Job Overview :

As Plant Manager of our New Jersey manufacturing facility, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant daily operation of our cannabis production lines. You’ll lead a hands-on team, manage facility performance against daily metrics, and ensure that quality, inventory, and safety protocols are consistently followed. Ideal candidates are proactive problem-solvers with strong people leadership skills, attention to detail, and comfortable using technology to drive results.

Key Responsibilities :

Operations Execution :

Ensure daily production schedules are met with a focus on throughput, quality, and continuous improvement. Monitor KPIs and proactively address operational gaps.

Compliance & Quality Assurance :

Implement and maintain daily compliance with NJ cannabis regulations. Ensure records are accurate, SOPs are followed, and internal audits are conducted regularly.

Team Leadership :

Direct, coach, and support production staff to meet individual and team performance goals. Drive accountability while fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Technology & Systems :

Utilize production software, tracking tools, and digital dashboards to manage workflow and ensure accuracy. Maintain accurate batch, inventory, and compliance records.

Facility & Equipment Maintenance :

Ensure production equipment is maintained and downtime is minimized. Coordinate preventative maintenance schedules and respond quickly to facility issues.

Inventory & Materials Management :

Coordinate materials, ingredients, and packaging needs to avoid out-of-stock issues. Work closely with procurement and warehousing to ensure alignment with production.

Health & Safety :

Maintain a safe work environment by ensuring all health, safety, and sanitation standards are followed. Lead by example in creating a safety-first culture.

Communication & Reporting :

Provide daily production updates to leadership, raise issues quickly, and recommend actionable solutions. Communicate shift handoffs and operational updates clearly.

Key Strengths and Contributions :

Thorough understanding of New Jersey’s cannabis regulations, ensuring that we remain compliant and operate without disruption. Strong Working knowledge of manufacturing technology (e.g. ERP systems, METRC, MES, compliance software) Understanding of cannabis cultivation, production, and distribution processes. Food and candy manufacturing experience Detail-oriented and highly organized. Maintain precise records and documentation. Leadership and people management skills to motivate a team to consistently deliver results. Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to lead a diverse team. Self-starter who takes initiative to solve problems and improve efficiency. Results-driven with a focus on meeting and exceeding production KPIs.
