This is a full-time, onsite, direct hire position. Salary is dependent upon experience/education, and the range is $75,000 – 95,000 / year. Relocation assistance is available for candidates located outside of the Charleston/Summerville, SC area. The company offers fantastic benefits and a positive, collaborative work environment.
Job Summary :
This position will have responsibility for managing complex development programs with simultaneous product launches. Will lead an international cross functional project team through the product life cycle including business capture, design, development, product launch, start of production, series production, end of production and service life to deliver all program related deliverables on time and within the established budget, quality and contractual requirements.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or similar) Must have 1 – 8 years of Project Management/Engineering/product launch experience in the manufacturing industry (open to Engineering graduates with similar co-op experience) Experience in an automotive/Tier 1 supplier manufacturing plant is strongly preferred Must have strong Excel ( pivot tables , etc.), PowerPoint, Word and Outlook skills, as well as ERP experience Lean manufacturing experience, training or certification Ability to interpret automotive drawings and blueprints Experience with MS Project or a similar Gantt chart/project management software; Think-Cell software experience is a plus Automotive Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP) methodology experience strongly preferred Demonstrated ability to perform cost and financial calculations, including looking into cost reduction/avoidance options Demonstrated ability to successfully negotiate commercial issues Demonstrated ability to lead an international cross functional team Strong verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated self-reliance and assertiveness, problem solving, and organizational skills Experience with
IATF / ISO
standards and procedures Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Works with assigned sales counterpart as primary customer interfaces responsible for all contractual, commercial and customer relations issues. Coordinates and leads Customer prototype and production builds as required. Obtains program requirements from the Customer and/or Sales Department. Develops, publishes, monitors, updates and communicates project timing and APQP activities to internal team and customer. Ensures Customer and internal project milestone requirements are completed, and that the project is executed within budget. Ensures all contractual and quality requirements are achieved. Leads mandatory project status meetings of international cross functional teams and publishes open issue lists. Monitors and reports project status to stakeholders. Supports on-time completion of customer quotations for new products and/or engineering changes to existing products with input from Product Development Engineering, Process Planning, Logistics, Quality and Finance departments. Communicates with potential new customers; prepares and presents technical information about the company and products. Supports execution of purchase orders for prototypes, production parts and/or equipment and tooling. Supports the negotiation of pricing and/or contracts with customer. Coordinates engineering change implementation with customer, suppliers and internal teams. Responds to customer prototype and production issues and ensures resolution. Recognizes priority conflicts and bottleneck situations concerning capacities, scheduling or budget; informs leadership and proposes solutions.
