Job Summary:

The Concrete Plant Manager oversees the daily operations of the concrete production facility. This role involves managing staff, ensuring the quality of concrete products, maintaining equipment, and adhering to safety and environmental regulations. The Concrete Plant Manager ensures that production goals are met while optimizing processes and promoting a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management:

Oversee and coordinate daily operations of the concrete plant. Ensure efficient production and timely delivery of concrete products. Monitor production metrics and implement improvements to optimize performance.

Staff Management:

Supervise and train plant staff, including operators, drivers, and maintenance personnel. Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and address personnel issues. Schedule shifts and manage staffing levels to meet production demands.

Quality Control:

Ensure all concrete products meet or exceed industry standards and specifications. Implement and oversee quality control procedures and tests. Address and resolve any quality issues or customer complaints.

Safety and Compliance:

Enforce safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental and safety regulations. Conduct regular safety audits and drills.

Maintenance and Equipment Management:

Oversee the maintenance and repair of plant equipment and machinery. Schedule and manage routine maintenance to minimize downtime. Manage inventory of spare parts and supplies.

Customer and Vendor Relations:

Build and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, and vendors. Coordinate with customers to ensure their needs and expectations are met. Manage procurement and delivery of raw materials.

Financial Management:

Prepare and manage the plant’s budget, including labor, materials, and operational costs. Monitor expenses and implement cost-saving measures. Prepare and review financial reports and forecasts.

Reporting and Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of production, inventory, and maintenance activities. Prepare and present regular reports to upper management.

Job Requirements:
Experience:

Demonstrated experience in managing concrete production or a similar industrial setting. Proven track record of successfully overseeing plant operations, preferably with at least 1 year in a leadership role.

Technical Knowledge:

Deep understanding of concrete production processes, equipment maintenance, and industry standards. Familiarity with concrete mix designs and quality control methods.

Leadership Skills:

Strong leadership and team-building capabilities, with experience in managing and motivating diverse teams. Ability to effectively resolve conflicts and foster a positive work environment.

Regulatory Compliance:

Knowledge of safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices. Experience ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Financial Acumen:

Experience with budgeting, cost control, and financial management. Ability to analyze financial reports and implement cost-effective strategies.

Software Proficiency:

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and plant management software. Familiarity with inventory and production management systems is a plus.

Communication Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees, customers, suppliers, and management.

Problem-Solving Abilities:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.

Adaptability:

Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities efficiently.

Physical Capability:

Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 pounds. Willingness to work in various environmental conditions and around heavy machinery.
