Job Summary:

Ensure all plants have an identified launch manager. Ensure they are qualified and prepared for the role. Ensure the launch managers are engaged early in the launch of anew products; the plants are properly prepared to accept the new product launches and facilitate thetransition from the launch team to the plant team. This may also include mid cycle enhancements, orany additional major projects as identified by the Operations Director or NA Launch Director. Participate in weekly new product launch meetings from product feasibility through start of production and participate in all Manufacturing Sign-Off events. Be capable and willing to fill in for launch managers when one is not present or available.
Essential functions of the job:
Responsible for hiring and developing Launch Managers. Providing annual goals, annual review and performance feedback. Ensuring that each plant has the adequate number of Launch Managers and Launch Engineers.
Responsible for assuring new launches achieve zero safety andquality incidents, zero delivery issues,100% on target to our financial commitments, and 90 days into production. Facilitate hand off new product/equipment/processes (“launch”) from launch team to plant leadership team through the use of the following processes, procedures, work instructions and forms: Launch Glide path, Launch Readiness Reviews, R@R’s, Process Sign-Off1, ProcessSign-Off 2 and Launch performance report. Ensure all plants and launches have and effectively utilize the Launch Glide path to systematically drive actions and accountability to required tasks and deliverables to the predetermined program timeline. Report Launch Glide path status tolaunch team, Plant staff and NA leadership team through Launch Performance Reports.
Ensureall plants and launches perform development builds, power builds, and burst builds on time, preparethe plant for an on time / successful Run at Rate. Lead launch readiness preparation reviews in phase 4. Provide feedback and coaching on presentation and presenters. Assist in eliminating roadblocks that the launch manager and team cannot overcome.
Ensure on time and successful Run at Rate event(s) 90 days prior to SOP. Internal and external events to validate overall plant readiness to perform to expectation (safety, quality, delivery, financial) at or Before SOP.
Ensure all Plants and launches facilitate Red Flag review with leadership team if a successful Run at Rate is not achieved 90 days prior to SOP. Identify open issues, actions, owners and datesto review with leadership. Follow up required until closed and Run at Rate is successful. Participate in process sign off reviews (1 & 2) with the plants prior to SOP. Ensure Launch Managers document open issues, owners and actions to drive weekly meetings within the plant and its staff.
Manage the launch cost budget with the Launch Managers and the plant to ensure appropriate and timely spending of predetermined funds. If deviation is required, elevate to programand plant leadership for direction. Ensure Launch costs budgets are forecasted by plant for currentand future years. Ensure that Monthly Management Operations Review data is compiledand reported to plant leadership team and NA launch Director (data to include, Top issues, action plans and timing). Ensure Plant Leadership team is trained in Launch process and theirrole in the Launch process.

Required Education:
Bachelor’s Level DegreeArea of Study:

Engineering, or Business or similar •Equivalent work experience may also be considered for certain positions.
Required Qualification
5-9 Minimum Yearsof Experience within the field.
Must be able and willing to travel if needed.
Computer literacy.
Proficient organizational skills.
Excellent oral communication skills
