This position is held accountable for all aspects of plat performance and ensures that the Company’s objectives are attained in a cost-effective manner that is consistent with all quality requirements. Delegate authority to key supervisors in production, manage full functions involved and direct and coordinate operations for the processing plant. The Plant Manager is expected to participate as a working team member to safely meet the needs of customers, business and other stake holders. Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for all processes in the conversion of raw product to finished goods delivering safe products at optimal cost and service levels Responsible for leading, coaching, energizing, empowering and directing the team to meet customer, employee, safety, quality and financial targets Understands and manages the financial dynamics of the organization Effectively leads the development of a strategy for achieving key goals and an organizational vision for the facility Leverages facility Infrastructure Improvements to Drive Efficiencies / Reduce Cost Thinks creatively and encourages innovation throughout the facility Responsible for driving, supporting and executing innovation projects at the plant level Responsible for ensuring manufacturing related ZLC (Lean Six Sigma) activities are delivered as expected Responsible for supporting a high-performance culture by developing direct reports, arranging developmental experiences for key performers through training, coaching, and mentoring Execute performance management processes (scorecard, formal performance appraisals and 1:1s); ensures direct reports to work towards common goals Influence others inside and outside the facility Responsible for developing and sustaining partnerships across the plant and network Anticipates and deals with issues proactively, decisively, and persistently; make decisions efficiently Recognizes and rewards employee efforts and completion of results Demonstrates compliance with Fresh Express’ success factors and values through consistent actions Meets/exceeds targeted budgeted costs for the facility Responsible for directly overseeing the Engineering, Maintenance and Safety & Security departments and indirectly QA and Human Resources Tracks and reports progress on building block projects and other ZLC activities Leads and participates in cross functional national teams Reports financial results for the facility to upper management on a monthly basis Works with other facility leaders to standardize best practices across the enterprise QRT team leader for the facility Develops and implements projects according to site plan Keeps current with latest food processing technology and commercial applications Keeps current with latest industry regulations and codes relative to food processing equipment system design and operation Perform other duties as assigned Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities Experience with perishable food industry Proven leadership and management experience Demonstrated cross functional knowledge and abilities (QA, Food Safety, Logistics, Warehouse, ZLC, Safety & Security and HR) Experience with ammonia and PSM systems is required Proven project engineering experience Plant maintenance experience is desired Understanding of lean manufacturing concepts and continuous improvement applications in engineering design Working knowledge of sanitary equipment design Proven effectiveness in working collaboratively within a matrix organization Excellent leadership qualities, verbal and written communication skills, technical analysis, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills are required Demonstrated customer focus and satisfaction results Travel 5% travel required Ability/desire to relocate (requires 40% of Plant Managers to be willing to relocate) Required Education and Experience BS Degree in Business, Engineering or food manufacturing equivalent MBA or advanced degree preferred Engineering background desired Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience Bilingual English/Spanish Formal process improvement leadership and execution with demonstrated successes Union contract negotiation and arbitration experience Physical Requirements Rarely (0-12%) Occasionally (13 – 33%) Frequently (34-66%) Regularly (67-100%)

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; extreme cold (non-weather) and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
