Production management supports the strategic planning processfor manufacturing as well as oversees implementation of segmentplans across manufacturing operations – ensuring that all thedifferent functional areas work together to maximizeprofitability.
General managers are accountable for their assignedproduction facility, ensuring operational efficiency andeffectiveness, a safe work environment, team culture and morale,customer satisfaction, and achievement of financial goals. He/shecoaches and develops managers and employees. He/she is accountablefor results, development of KPIs, and continuousimprovement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops strategic plans, forecasts and budgets. Oversees all aspects of assigned plant operations. Coaches and develops managers and production supervisors anddevelops succession planning for managers. Maintains open communication with plant managers, productionsupervisors, and employees regarding safety concerns, achievementof production quality, and production productivity goals. Performs various other job duties as assigned and needed. Develops plans for efficient use of materials, machines, andemployees. Reviews production costs and product quality, and modifiesproduction and inventory control programs to maintain and enhanceprofitable operation. Recommends budgets to top management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
College degree and housing manufacturing experiencerequired. Supervisory experience required. Demonstrated ability to support multiple teams in order toconsistently meet production goals is required. Demonstrated ability to support and encourage staff,demonstrate empathy for others, to be trained, and take directionis required. This ability should include an appreciation forcoaching of other people leaders (development of general managersand plants functional managers who in turn must have or learn howto coach and develop other managers and individual teammembers).
