Position overview As the Plant Manager at Tier-Rack, you will oversee all manufacturing operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety throughout our facility. This leadership role requires a strong background in production management, automation, start-up operations, employee supervision, and continuous process improvement. Candidates with experience in Robotics, Welding, and lean business practices will be preferred, especially those who bring a proactive approach and strong leadership skills. The Plant Manager will be instrumental in upholding the company’s longstanding reputation for precision and quality while introducing the company on a new community and location. This position will be involved in the initial setup of the new plant and fostering a collaborative team environment. Key Responsibilities Operations Management Oversees all aspects of daily plant operations to ensure production targets, quality standards, and safety protocols are met. Coordinates manufacturing activities to align with customer schedules and delivery timelines. Implements lean manufacturing practices to improve efficiency and reduce waste. Team Leadership Manages, motivates, and develops plant staff, promoting teamwork and accountability. Conducts regular performance evaluations and identifies training needs for continuous improvement. Collaborates with HR to manage hiring, onboarding, and workforce planning. Technical Oversight Supports production processes involving robotic manufacturing and welding. Troubleshoots equipment or process issues and implements effective solutions. Works with engineering and maintenance teams to ensure machinery reliability and operational excellence. Quality and Compliance Maintains adherence to ISO quality standards and enforces strict quality control measures. Ensures plant operations meet all applicable safety and regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA). Oversees corrective actions for quality or safety non-conformances. Communication and Reporting Prepares production and performance reports for upper management review. Facilitates cross-departmental coordination to align production goals with company objectives. Communicates operational updates and initiatives clearly to the team and stakeholders. Qualifications Proven experience managing or supervising in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Experience with lean manufacturing and welding is required. Experience with robotic welding and automation is highly preferred. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage diverse teams and foster a results-driven culture. Knowledge of lean manufacturing, quality control systems, and OSHA compliance standards. Excellent communication and decision-making skills. Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail. A degree in mechanical engineering, industrial technology, or a related field is preferred.
